How to make homemade bread?

I make my own bread most of the time and it has been good. I first thought about it and simply get a recipe and started doing it. The bread did not turn out good. I searched YouTube and found this video. It is very simple and I have been referring this video to many people who wanted to try to make their own bread.

Check this out. The YouTube channel is called SteveTheBreadGuy. I think he is Canadian.

How to make homemade ginger beer?

I love ginger beer. I made it myself after my oncologist told me that to fight the nausea after chemotherapy I should be chewing on pieces of ginger. I decided to make the ginger drinks instead. And it has anti-oxidant element that is good for cancer patient.

I ended up fine tuning the recipe to this...

150 - 160 grams sugar
1100 grams filtered water
50 - 60 grams ginger
1 lemon
30 - 40 grams honey
1/4 teaspoon yeast

You can also check out how to make your own ginger beer starter to replace the yeast.

How to monitor electrical usage at home?

Google "Kill A Watt" and you will find a device that can be used to measure the electrical usage of your home appliances. You can use the information to take action to reduce your electric bills or even size up your solar system for your home.

Plugged to my water dispenser (cold/hot). Running at 146.3 Watts and after 10 hours, the amount of electrical usage is 1.81kWH.

I bought this recently because I wanted to reduce the electrical bills and wanted to see how to go about doing it. I wanted to know the amount of electrical usage for most of the appliances in the house and then see how I can reduce the usage or be more disciplined in making sure that I do not waste any electrical power when I am not using the appliances.

We can use the value of the kWH to estimate the amount of electricity that we have to pay the utility company.

The following is one of the videos on this excellent device with a trick that really helps :).

At the same time, I also wanted to see how I can use solar power in my house to power several equipment to reduce electrical bills and also to be more environmental friendly person. After reading and watching a lot of videos on home-based solar system, they all suggested that I calculate the "load" for the equipment that I intend to put on solar power. From there I can design the solar power system that is suitable for my needs. That is where this device will come into good use.

Ukulele

My daughter asked me to buy the ukulele because she wanted to learn how to play it. After so many times asking, I finally bought one for her.

Surprisingly, after a day, she was able to play the instrument and my other daughter can also do that.

My son was excited and so was I. We decided to buy another one and true enough we all can play the ukulele within a day or two. Now all we have to do it to find the songs that we like and learn to play by watching video on YouTube.

Give it a try.

Cheers :)
