May we have the selection right away from the beginning of the meal
time? That is very important to establish the relationship for the
longer term. We have been here for a few times and we like the
environment and also the people that we meet here. They are jovial and
friendly. They are polite and they do not mix the business talk during
our conversation. They are more willing to talk about the family and
also the kids and the sports that they are into. They do not reveal the
nature of their wealth and we know that a few of them are very well to
do and they live in the club house area. Some of the have invited us for
tea at their mansion and we could not wait to make the acquaintance
better than before.
Is there a way that we can try to make up for the faults that we have done so far this year? We knew that we have made mistakes that cost the company some loss and we are about to find out the decision that the chief in command is thinking. We are open to any action to be taken upon us. We did not follow the company's standard operating procedures when we manage the project and it went over the dateline. The company was summoned for the late delivery and we have lost quite a fair bit of the profit margin. We knew that we are not going to get the completion bonus because we did not finish the project on time. On top of that we blew the budget and we are not really finish with a high quality products. It is not easy to manage any project. We cannot be sitting on the chair and looking at the progress chart all the time and attend progress meeting. We must be able to go to the site and physically get involved. We must get to know the people there and communicate directly with them. Any issue can be identified earlier and we can make the necessary decision to resolve the conflict and get on with the project and come out with excellent products and services.
There are a few ways that we can try to make up for the lost time. We have to sacrifice our sleep and work through out until late at night. Then we do have to get up as early as possible to try carry on to finish the stuff that we could not do the previous night. After a few days of doing such approach we will finish the backlogs and we can continue to finish the action items and complete the project. This is standard way of doing work. There is nothing to shout about. As far as the performance is concerned, we are not really performing. We have missed out several action items and we have to make sure we do not repeat the same mistake. At this rate we are not going to be excellent in our performance. We have missed that opportunity to over achieve. We now aim to achieve and get a rating of 3 (meet requirements) in our appraisal.
Some of the younger people in the office have not realized that they are there for a reason. They have been taught about work and money matters and then they do not really care about the execution and the attendance and the way to kill time in the office. Sleeping in the office has become a thing. People sleep all the time especially during the break but they will carry on for another 10 to 15 minutes after the break is over. They also have plenty to be talking about and that they are not going to be deny the opportunity to do that. Some bought special pillow to sleep comfortably on the chair. The pillow will wrap the neck and then the can have a comfortable up right sleeping position. I am afraid to go to sleep in the office because I had a bad and humiliating incident a few years ago. I dare not talk about it and I try very hard not to sleep in the office any more.
We are very fortunate during the last vacation. We ended up at the beach and we could not find any chalet. They were all fully booked. We were lucky when an elderly couple offered us to stay in their bungalow. They asked us to look after the bungalow because they will be going to the capital city for a week. They say we can use the bungalow for a week and they only thing they ask was not to sleep in their bedroom. They have locked the master bedroom but we can have the bungalow for ourselves for a week!
